We believe in a rigorous and documented restoration process which is briefly outlined below.
We begin by completely dismantling the car and bringing it to a bare chassis. All parts are suitably labeled and catalogued. Any corrosion to the body is meticulously repaired either with available replacement parts or by building our own in an artisanal way for an exact fit.
Once the body is properly prepared, we apply a heavy coat of epoxy primer to protect and seal the vehicle. This is followed by many hours of sanding and finishing after which a high quality paint finish is applied.
The engine is disassembled, dipped, cleaned and dried. Only then can the rebuilding start with at a revised pistons, liners, valves, guides, springs, bearings, gaskets and chains are fitted where necessary. After measuring and any necessary grinding and machining the engine is reassembled and tested to factory specifications.
Carburetors are also disassembled and rebuilt to look and perform like new. New fuel lines and filters are fitted whereas fuel pumps are rebuilt where possible. The fuel tank is either restored or replaced with a stainless steal version ensuring maximum safety. All chrome components (over 50 pieces in all for a Giulietta Spider) are repaired and sent to a specialist for a 3-step finishing process.
The gearbox, differential, suspensions components are all stripped, cleaned and rebuilt with quality parts. The braking system is also completely overhauled. New tires and hub caps are balanced and fitted. In most cases, the windshield is replaced along with most of the rubber seal components of the car. All electrical components are tested and rebuilt where necessary. A new wiring loom is fitted (with better grounding than the factory!) to ensure reliability.
The steering wheel and gauges are all dismantled and restored by a specialist in Italy to look and function like new. The soft top frame is restored and a new high-quality top is fitted. Heating fans, wiper systems and other interior components are restored to original condition. Seats are stripped and rebuilt with quality foam and covered in matching upholstery as are the side and rear interior panels. New carpeting is installed to complete the interior.
Finally, the car is extensively road tested and minor adjustments are made to ensure a quality-finished product.
